Where Main Street whispers and the plateau remembers.
From the neon glow of a small-town marquee to the quiet geometry of awning shadows on a courthouse square, the Upper Cumberland speaks in subtle, enduring notes. Echoes of the Plateau is a photographic journey through the towns, streets, and everyday corners of this region—Cookeville, Crossville, Sparta, and beyond—each image a fragment of the plateau’s memory.
Here, time slows. A barber’s striped awning ripples in the breeze. A pastel porch holds the warmth of a summer morning. A red caboose rests in still retirement, telling silent stories of miles once traveled. These moments aren’t grand or staged; they’re the everyday poetry of a place that holds its history in brick, iron, and painted wood.
Through this series, I invite you to walk with me along Main Streets and back alleys, under theatre marquees, and past shopfronts that still carry the scent of coffee, popcorn, or frying dough. Echoes of the Plateau is both a record and a love letter—a way of holding on to the familiar textures of the Upper Cumberland before they fade into memory.
