Wheels turn, balconies breathe, and Havana keeps its secrets.
The streets of Havana breathe history. They hum with the sound of rolling wheels, the chatter of neighbors leaning over balconies, and the quiet dignity of buildings that have stood for more than a century.
“Havana in Light and Shadow” is my latest photographic collection — an intimate journey through the city’s colors, textures, and rhythms. From the sunlit facades of the Hotel Inglaterra to the timeworn arches of the Hotel Isla de Cuba, each image captures not just a place, but a feeling — the layered poetry of a city that is both elegant and weathered.
This series weaves moments of stillness with sparks of motion:
- A bicitaxi gliding past two friends on a curb.
- A yellow-shirted man pushing his pedal cart through a sun-washed barrio.
- Motorcycles under repair in the afternoon light, as painted walls cast bright reflections across the street.
Spanish words drift naturally through the titles, honoring Havana’s heartbeat and grounding the images in their true language. This is not just a collection of photographs — it is a portrait of a living city, shaped by time, sunlight, and the lives within it. Every title is a thread that ties the image back to Havana’s soul.
